The I/DNC product enables the user to configure a DNC network fortransfer of part programs between a workstation and a NC/CNC machinetool. The system is modular in design and expandable so that connectionsto machine tools can be added easily as the shop grows. Features include:Interfaces directly with I/NC output capabilities; part program uploadedor downloaded to the machine tool; full compliment of network solutions;interfaces directly to and controls shop floor hardware; punch and readpaper tape; collection and reporting of shop floor information, andonline context sensitive help.Machine tools are connected to the Intergraph network directly using RS-232 serial connections or through a Greco Systems hardware device when aparallel interface connection is required. Passthroughs of the program tothe machine tool is also supported when the files are larger than thecapacity of the Greco devices. After uploading a program, comparisons ofthe files can be done for evaluation before updating the CAD/CAMdatabase.
